Friends from Sydney came to visit London this week, and we all booked tickets to ‘An Exclusive Evening Tour of The State Rooms, Buckingham Palace.’ I had no idea the Palace was open to visitors and am very grateful to have found this out before we end up back in Sydney!

Of course the rooms are stately and grand and it was a wonderful experience. At the end of the tour, which lasts about 1.5 hours, we were handed a glass of champagne out on the terrace looking over the gardens, and then we were let loose in the gift shop! Yikes!

I think my favourite part was being driven in a buggy out to the front gates which made us giggle and we felt rather special.

We were not allowed to take any photographs at all inside the Palace, but we captured a few other memories of the evening.
